Luke and I had our very first parent/teacher conference on Tuesday afternoon. It’s kind of funny to have this sort of meeting for a 2 year old, but it was good to know Gianni is doing well at school.
Here’s what came out of the meeting –
Positives: He cleans up toys without being asked, he’s a good napper, he’s very friendly (always saying hello) and smiling to parents entering the classroom or to people they see on their walks and lastly, he’s “curious”.
Areas for improvement: Listening (what toddler fully listens?!), practicing gentle touches (he doesn’t know his own strength!) and calming down.
Did you like how I ‘stuck up for him’ on his areas for improvement? Ha! Typical mom…
They said when he’s full of energy, they calm him down by reading a book (which he loves!) and tries to distract him from whatever bad behavior by asking him to feel the grass, flower, tree, etc… They said he loves sensory and feeling. Whatever that means!
So the moral of the conference, Gianni is a very ‘curious’ (aka ACTIVE) little boy who is learning a lot! I can tell you he has one of his teachers wrapped around his finger (Ms Meghan!) and the other (Ms Courtney) is teaching him some crazy dance moves!
