Oh yeah… That’s the fun that’s happening in our house right now.
Lil g had her 2 month shots yesterday and they were a little rough on her. Routine shots never bothered G, so I didn’t give her any Tylenol beforehand. It took a while, but hours later, she awoke from her nap SCREAMING at the top of her lungs like she was in pain. This lasted about an hour before she fell asleep in my arms. Needless to say, I didn’t let her out of my arms until 10pm.
Now G… He had what appeared to be ‘bites’ on his inner thigh a few days ago. We showed L, who said they looked like bites from him running through the ferns in our yard. Yesterday, these bites appeared to spread and L said it looked like poison ivy. G was fine, so we treated it and went on our way. Today I received a call from school saying G was having an allergic reaction to something and had bumps all over his body. Sure enough, he was. Another trip to our new pediatrician today, this time for my other kid, and he’s on Benadryl, oatmeal baths and Calomine lotion.
The great thing is our landscapers were here to redo the property and found the poison ivy. It just came in and was right in the middle of where G was digging with his trucks (edge of grass and a pine tree). They’ll be ripping it all out tomorrow – thank god! So that explains how it started on his inner thigh.
Everyone is on the mend and doing just fine (MOM – don’t call… they’re FINE J), just a crazy 24 hours! So this is what it’s like with 2 kids? I can’t imagine how my aunt handles 7!!!
It's called "baptism by fire"! The joys of 2! It never stops. There have been at least 4 different occasions when we were due to visit the ped with a check-up and ended up going a week before/after due to an illness. Or each one had separate visits within a week due to the same illness. Geeze kids, coordinate your scheds a little better! Do we need to have weekly time management meetings! LOL!!! Glad Big G is surviving the itchies ok. And poor Lil' G. Laynie was always a trooper with shots, but they always got the best of Jack. I cuddled with him for at least two days after to keep him soothed. And those 2 monthers are the WORST! They don't know what's coming...
